Which signifies that at the coming of the Later Heaven Gaebyeok, the due south and due north of the Earth change and accordingly the direction of its meridian changes from Ja(子)-oh(午) into Chuk(丑)-mi(未), which is described in the traditional tale of Korea, saying a rat(ja, 子) withraws and a cow(chuk, 丑) enters into the due north. So, the traditional play of jwibullori implies this change.
On this day, villagers compose a farmers' band and play pungmulnori, visiting all houses of the village. Playing pungmulnori, they amuse those gods in the hous; Jowangshig in the kitchen, cheonyugnshin in the jangdokdae(platform for sauces), the god of see king in the well, the god of domestic animals in the barn, cheukshin in the outhouse , the god of door in the gate. And then they’re moving around the yard, pleasing the god of earth and the god of the house.
Traveling around the town, they gather rices and bundles of straw. Using these, they make rice cakes and twist straw ropes. and then they play a tug of war(or judarigi) on a large scale.
During the jishinbapgi, they circle around the outhouse , saying words of blessing that: It’s no use one hundred medicine when you fall into the hall of outhouse. “We’re praying to the god of outhouse for not falling into the hall of outhouse from the grandfather to the grandson, We’re praying, praying again and again.”
